After a two-year hiatus due to drought conditions, current and former members of the Coats' Lab (and their families) participated in the annual canoe float trip on August 30th, 2014. This year's float trip was down the Des Moines River.
In 2014, Coats' lab alumni and current visiting professor, Dr. Steven Bradbury received the Henry A. Wallace Award for Outstanding Leadership to National and International Agriculture from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Iowa State University.
Lab alumnus Dr. Keri Carstens received the Outstanding Regional Chapter Member Award from the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) at the 35th Annual North America Meeting. Read more about Carstens Receives SETAC Award

The Pesticide Toxicology Laboratory returns from an Insecticide Toxicology workshop hosted by Dr. Jeff Bloomquist at his laboratory in the Emerging Pathogens Institute. Topics discussed during the workshop involved the current state of Insecticide Toxicology, future directions of the field, and aims for more collaborative projects between multiple groups.
