RE: Extension Risk Management Education Competitive Grants Program
North Central Region Risk Management Education
PURPOSE: help agricultural producers to learn about and use tools and approaches that can reduce the adverse effects of weather, yields, prices, and other risks that negatively impact the economic viability of the farm or ranch.
Proposals are invited for educational projects with results and measurable outcomes for producers in one or more of five primary sources of risk: production, marketing, financial, legal and human. Proposals are invited for two categories of projects: 1) exploratory projects for planning with awards up to $3,000 over a 6-month project; or 2) education projects with awards up to $50,000 over an 18-month period. Note that this deadline is for the full application (not a pre-proposal as in past years). Projects can start on April 1, 2015 and extend for up to 18 months in duration. Projects must be completed by September 30, 2016.
