Rob Davis, Fresh Energy, Center for Pollinators in Energy
Synopsis. Since 2013 the Midwest has gone from just a few acres to several thousand acres of solar farms. As this new land use emerges, are there tradeoffs in a clean energy future? To help answer those questions, Rob Davis is working as director of Center for Pollinators in Energy at Fresh Energy, to help transition to the use of clean and renewable energy. Rob will discuss his work that has been highlighted in an American Beekeeping Federation magazine cover story as well as featured in Scientific American, National Geographic, and Wired. Minnesota’s Solar Energy Industries Association awarded Davis its 2018 Excellence in Solar Policy Award and Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal named him to the publication’s list of “50 on Fire,” recognizing Davis as a national leader in the ‘Solar Farm to Table’ movement. Previously, Davis helped launch technology start-ups and created the international crowdsourced campaign that launched the Firefox web browser.
