Description:

Summary: 

The species of Nealexandriaria are grouped on the wing venation that shows the absence of the discal cell and a single medial vein attaining the wing margin. This genus is listed as a subgenus of Dicranomyia by Oosterbroek (2005) but is elevated to generic level here based on the venation of adult fly.

Distribution: 

The 25 species of Nealexandriaria are currently known only from the Oriental and Australian/Oceanic regions. The species of the Oriental Region (15 species) are strongly distributed throughout Indonesia and the Philippines.

Larval Habitat: 

The larval habits of this subgenus are unknown.
