My work focuses on the study of insect viruses from the families Dicistroviridae and Iflaviridae I participate in a collaborative project (PIs: B. Bonning, A. Toth and W. A. Miller) directed to understand the relationship between viral infection and nutritional stress in honey bee health. Additionally, I work on the characterization of known and novel viruses with potential to be used as tools for biological control of insect pests.
