Survival of Bacillus thuringiensis spores in soil

Survival of Bt spores was determined in natural soil in the laboratory and in nature. pH had little effect on survival of spores that survived the first 2 weeks. Remoistening of a desiccated soil caused a decrease in spore numbers in laboratory tests, but not in a natural environment.
