Summary

One- and five-day feeding trials were conducted in which praying mantis were fed cabbage looper larvae intoxicated with Btk toxin. Cabbage looper larvae were intoxicated by feeding them a diet supplemented with 150 ug/ml of a commercial preparation of Btk. No mortality or abnormal behavior was noted among praying mantis fed intoxicated cabbage looper larvae for one or five days.

This was one of the very early studies done looking at trophic level effects of Bt toxins.
