Summary
One- and five-day feeding trials were conducted in which praying mantis were fed cabbage looper larvae intoxicated with Btk toxin. Cabbage looper larvae were intoxicated by feeding them a diet supplemented with 150 ug/ml of a commercial preparation of Btk. No mortality or abnormal behavior was noted among praying mantis fed intoxicated cabbage looper larvae for one or five days. |
This was one of the very early studies done looking at trophic level effects of Bt toxins.
