Summary

Compared the allocation of plant defensive compounds (including Bt) under elevated and normal C02 concentrations. Compared the results to the Carbon Nutrient Balance hypothesis. Showed that plant allocations to an engineered toxin still fits in with the CNB hypothesis, but fits best at high N levels. At low N levels there was no effect of CO2 on the allocation to Bt, which was unexpected.
