Summary
Dow AgroSciences tested a microbe- produced CryIF delta-endotoxin in up to 32-day degradation studies. The study was performed in a soil representative of the mid-south cotton-growing areas. The degradation was assayed using the tobacco budworm bioassay. Mortality at the highest CryIF concentration was <40% after 1 day in soil. |
Indicates a short half life for Bt in one natural soil. Uses bioassay, but no "chemical" method. Does not use transformed plant protein, only microbially produced protein.
