Summary

This study examined the longevity of predators (Geocoris punctipes, Geocoris pallens, Orius tristicolor, Nabis spp. and Lygus hesperus) that also feed on plants, feeding on Bt Newleaf potatoes (Cry3). Predators were field collected and all life stages were used, but nymphs were harder to obtain. The predators were only given the plant, no prey. No differences in longevity were observed, but life spans were highly variable. Plate-based ELISA did not detect protein in any of the insects.
