Summary

Examined the movement of Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) along a gradient consisting of transgenic potatoes expressing different amounts of Bt var tenebrionis toxin. Showed evidence that a gustatory detection of toxin does not occur. Little overall movement was observed. Results suggest that more resistant larvae are more likely to return to nontransgenic foliage.
