Stink bugs: Pathogens transmitted

Nematospora coryli (causitive agent of yeast spot disease) has been shown to be transmitted by stink bugs under caged conditions (Dougherty 1967, Clark and Wilde 1971). It is not known what role stink bugs play in the ecology of this disease in the field. However, the green stink bug can reduce soybean grain weight through the transmission of N. coryli (Clark and Wilde 1971).
