This semimigratory stink bug is an infrequent pest of soybean and is most likely to cause damage to soybeans south of the 40^o latitude.
Stink bugs primarily attack soybean during its reproductive stages and prefer the developing seeds (McPherson and McPherson 2000). This feeding on maturing seed results in shriveled, dessicated seed.
