University of Warwick

The scientific programme and housing for most delegates will be on the campus of the University of Warwick. Detailed information on the University and its facilities can be found at the University website. A campus map can be downloaded here. The campus is set in parkland and covers an area of c.300 ha. It was recently voted the best campus in the UK. The conference will be held in the Conference Park, which is located in the centre of the campus. It includes the Warwick Arts Centre, with a 1,200 seat conference hall, a 570 seat theatre, 250 seat conference room, a cinema with 225 seats, and an exhibition space. Car parking for delegates on campus is free. Delegates will also have free use of the University’s comprehensive sports facilities (swimming pools, gyms, sports halls, tennis and squash courts, rock climbing centre etc). Details of conference facilities can be found here. The campus is a popular choice for conferences and training; for example The English Football Association use the University for training Premier League soccer managers and aspiring coaches (you never know, you could find yourself sitting down at breakfast with David Beckham!). Scientific program

The science program will be held in the Arts Centre, where we will be using the Theatre and Conference room for presentations, as well as the large Gallery for the mixer and poster sessions. Sessions will also be held in two lecture rooms in the Humanities Building which is just around the corner from the Arts Centre.

Meals

Rootes social buildingMeals will be held in the upstairs restaurant of the Rootes Social Building. Meals are paid for in advance (meals are included in the price of accommodation for those staying on campus; delegates staying off campus will need to pay an additional charge as part of your registration fee). You will need to show your conference badge to the restaurant staff when you collect your meals in the restaurant. The standard of the food is excellent (we guarantee you will leave heavier than when you arrive!). There is also a large pay bar situated opposite the restaurant where delegates can unwind in the evening. The University has a number of other cafes, bars and restaurants around campus, but as it will be the vacation period these are likely to have restricted opening hours.
