Call for PapersPowerPoint slide presentations: Speakers are strongly encouraged to upload PowerPoint presentations by July 30. Powerpoint 2003 will be used at the conference. Fonts: Choose a standard font to ensure compatibility Graphics: PowerPoint files will load faster if the graphics file size is kept to a minimum. When scanning images or embedding images in your presentation, we recommend a 200 dpi setting at most. Viewing on screen is 72 dpi. Naming files: Room-Day-Session Title-Your name-Presentation number (e.g. SS020-Tues-Virus2-Chandler-16 or for symposium talks: ArtsCTh-Wednes-MCSymp-Winstanley-242). Please refer to the meeting schedule – program for the room, day and number of your presentation. Uploading files: Before uploading files, check the presentation for Mac to PC incompatibilities if applicable. There will be opportunity to review presentations in the Speaker Ready Room prior to giving your presentation. Please bring a back-up on a CD or memory stick. If presentations contain one or more video clips, put the presentation and video clips into one folder, compress it, and upload the resulting .zip file. Be sure to label the folder, the PowerPoint file, and the movie clips with the speaker's name. Upload your presentation here: http://www.ent.iastate.edu/sip/2008/upload If you have problems uploading your presentation, the reasons are most likely to be one of the following: 1) Your presentation is larger than 70 MB in size (!) 2) Uploading takes too long because of a slow network connection. If either of these apply, please upload your presentation at registration on Sunday, August 3.
ORAL PRESENTATIONS: Contributed oral presentations will be limited to 12 minutes with an additional 3 minutes for answering questions. Because of concurrent sessions, moderators will be instructed to keep to the scheduled times. For symposium and workshop talk times, please refer to the program. Digital projection and PC computer equipment only will be available. Oral presentations must be supported by a PowerPoint presentation (PowerPoint 2003). No other form of projection will be available. POSTERS : Posters should be A1 landscape: 841 mm (2.75 ft) wide by 594 mm (1.95 ft) tall. PLEASE NOTE THE SIZE OF THE POSTERS: They are smaller than usual, which will require care with the quantity of text and numbers of images you use. As a guide, use less text and fewer, but larger images than you would normally use. Consider that the poster MUST be readable at a distance of 1 metre (minimum) when it is printed at the required size. Click here for an example of a poster prepared with this size in mind. Velcro or pins for poster boards will be provided.
