Multiuser Conferences
A standard direct connection limits a discussion to two parties. However, it is frequently useful to have a number of individuals involved in a conference. To faciliate this, we have set up a reflector, which enables conferences of up to five people. On our machine we have 6 conferences available and permanently established.

To join one of this conferences, select the 'Conferences' group from the pull-down menu and double-click on the conference you need. The procedure is exactly the same as direct dialing another person. (Note: The Plant Disease Clinic entry in the Conferences group connects to the Plant Disease conference on the reflector...not to the actual Clinic on campus. To connect to the clinic, select Plant Disease Clinic from the Direct group.) After the connection has been established, Cu-SeeMe will display a conference menu (below).
Conference Menu
The correct conference is selected and the password filled in; so just click on "Join" to enter the conference. Finally, a brief message on the conference will appear. Click "Go!" (lower right corner of the window) to join the conference.

A multi-user conference behaves exactly like a direct connection, with the exception of the additional participants. Any text typed in the chat window is sent to all participants.
