The dark green strips highlight healthier corn plants were the European corn borer larvae were killed by the insecticide. The light brown areas in the rest of field indicate where this pest continued to feed and tunnel into the plants, thereby causing the plants to die sooner and lose yield.

A high-clearance ground sprayer can be used to apply insecticides to corn for control of both first and second generation European corn borer larvae.

Spray planes can be used to apply insecticides to corn to help control potentially-damaging populations of European corn borers.
