Develop the same cost-benefit analysis as that calculated for whorl-stage field corn. If control is justified, one treatment should be sufficient. During and after pollen shed, develop the corresponding cost-benefit analysis as that calculated for field corn at pollen shedding, and apply control if the preventable loss exceeds the cost of control. Popcorn value is approximately $0.10 per pound, and yield is usually expressed as pounds per acre.
