Medical Entomology

Teaching and Training

Insects and other arthropods transmit (i.e., vector) disease agents (including viruses, bacteria, single-celled and multi-cellular parasites) that cause devastating diseases like Dengue Fever, Lyme disease, malaria, and filariasis. The interactions between vectors and pathogens are fascinating areas of study. This lab/program provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to learn about and practice medical entomology in the classroom, laboratory, and field.
