Diplodia ear rot -- pycnidia

A very distinguishing characteristic of Diplodia ear rot is the appearance of raised black bumps (pycnidia) on the moldy husk or kernels (middle right). Diplodia ear rot occurs most often in fields under reduced tillage where corn follows corn.
