New infectious diseases and recurring infectious diseases are on the increase. A considerable number of these are mosquito vectored. No one person is immune to these diseases and we are dependent on mosquito researchers and mosquito abatement districts to provide protection. However, we have very poor representation or participation of Medical Entomologists in the field of mosquito research and management attending the NCB meetings. This presentation will, therefore, address why this may be happening and introduce possible solutions for discussion. New initiatives will be presented as to how to involve the numerous vector control people within the NCB region, members of The American Mosquito Control Association, and various industries that are in involved in and support Mosquito Abatement Districts.
