Scientific research is not complete until the results are published and understandable. As young scientists, you are at the forefront of building skills that can help you write well before your fear and dislike of writing become too deeply ingrained. You will be measured and become well-known (or remain unknown) by your publication quality (not necessarily quantity). This symposium outlines methods and resources to help you write clearly and effectively whether you are preparing a laboratory report, thesis or dissertation, or journal article. It also relays what your role should be in the editorial process prepublication and what to expect from professional scientific editors.
