• Refine the membership pool

  • Relook at the Program Sectional Format.
    • Is it fulfilling potential members needs?
  • Look at the possibility of joint planning with sister societies.
  • Provide needed services (CEUs etc).

   

• Broaden our Resources Base as the members we serve are dwindling.
  • Foundations.
  • Studies/Grants.
  • Industry Grants.

To lessen the load of the President, the NCB/ESA Executive Committee will implement the following:

• Distribute committee responsibilities across the Executive committee with member responsible for:
  • Suggesting nominees for committees.
  • Communication to and from the committee.
  • Suggestions on committee structure.

 

• Assure a strong Local Arrangements and Program Committee.

• Appointed by the President-Elect as soon as that person is announced.
• All members should be as close to each other and the site as possible

• What are the issues that hinder us from achieving our mission?
  • The annual meeting responsibility consumes the President's time, resulting in fewer other projects being accomplished.

• The long-term viability of the Branch.
  • Declining membership.
  • Downsizing of entomology in industry, government and universities lead to fewer potential members from classical sources.
  • Specialty meetings distract membership from the NCB meeting.

• What is our mission? Why do we exist? How do we add value?
  • The mission of the North Central Branch ESA Executive Committee is to provide for continuity of leadership and long term viability of the NCB/ESA. We will be a forum for change and representative of the membership.
  • Opportunity for a meeting at which to exchange ideas.
