The effectiveness and persistence of Steinernema feltiae was examined to control house flies in cattle manure. Nematodes were applied at field application rate (1,000,000/m sq.) to 1 pint containers containing 150g manure. Containers were stored at 25°C in complete darkness. Early third instar maggots were added weekly to containers. Mortality was then determined by adult emergence. There is a decline in the effectiveness of the nematodes from 0 through 6 weeks.
