Wayne A. Rowley

Professor; Ph.D., Washington State University (1965)

Department Position: 49% research, 51% teaching

Dr. Rowley's research involves insects of public health importance, specifically the biology, physiology, and vector-agent interactions of mosquitoes and ticks. Interests are currently related to the natural history of Lyme disease and the deer tick in the upper Midwest and to mosquito encephalitis virus activity. Flight behavior and how it is modified by interactions with microorganisms vectored by mosquitoes is a major area of research.
