Courtney Laboratory

Outcomes

The project supported twelve graduate students either directly (e.g., through assistantships) or indirectly (through subsidizing / coordinating field work in Thailand). Although identification and description of taxa continues, the project already has led to the discovery of hundreds of new species. Thus far, the project has resulted in 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 9 book chapters, and 8 theses (4 M.Sc. and 4 Ph.D.). In addition, interactive, web-based keys are being developed (e.g., see Tipuloidea) and a number of outreach programs and taxonomic workshops have been conducted or are being planned.
