The Bonning laboratory provides a supportive and productive research environment with emphases on sound training and professional development. Research projects for students range from fundamental research on insect virus – host interactions and insect physiology, to applied research on development of insect resistant transgenic plants. Projects are selected on the basis of student interests. Ph.D. students in the Bonning lab can major in Entomology, Microbiology, or Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, Genetics or Toxicology.
