Where are the Insecta (insects) in this classification scheme? Look under the Hexapoda, which is a grouping that occurs between the Phylum Arthropoda and the Class Insecta. The Hexapoda can be considered a superclass.
Another way to look at it is by thinking about which groups contain which. The Animalia contain the Arthropoda which contain the Hexapoda which contain the Insecta:
