Plans for NSF I/UCRC

Director: Bryony Bonning, Iowa State University
Co-Director: S. Reddy Palli, University of Kentucky

Center Evaluator: Otto Doering, Agricultural Economics, Purdue University

On the basis that economic losses resulting from arthropod-mediated damage and disease are second only to losses resulting from natural disasters, we propose to streamline the efforts of industry and academia toward management of arthropod pests through creation of a unique center: We plan to partner with NSF and industry for formal establishment of a center. We plan to submit a proposal for a National Science Foundation Industry / University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) by March 4, 2013. A Planning Meeting for the proposed NSF Center was held in Ames, IA September 5-7, 2012. Please see CAMTech Planning Meeting for further information. Representatives from prospective member organizations attended this meeting.
